Dep. Sec. of Interior Is An Oil Co. Lobbyist
"Steven Griles is the deputy secretary of the Interior, which means he oversees our national parks - places like Yellowstone, Yosemite and the Grand Canyon. the definition of his job is to protect these places for generations to come. it has come to our attention that he has been leading the efforts to drill for oil and gas on these public lands and he's been working to weaken the laws that protect the air.
"To fill you in a little bit more on Steven Griles: Before he started working for the government, he would speak on behalf of oil companies and electric utilities to congress (i.e. lobby/support them). It turns out that he's still lobbying for them. Steven Griles is being paid $284,000.00 a year by his old lobbying company while working for the Federal government (which we feel is a pretty big conflict of interest). When he was hired by the government, he promised to stop working for his old clients, and he hasn't done that."
