Family Fringe
The New York International Fringe Festival is soon to be upon us againa two-week long underground theatre festival that Time Out New York calls "The biggest, funniest, silliest, wildest, kinkiest, freakiest, screwiest, wackiest, artiest, funkiest, feisteist, scrappiest theatrical showcase of the year."
This year's festival is itching to be a memorable one, with dozens of off-Broadway productions being performed all throughout the city. Most interesting, however, is the unexpected addition to this year's lineup of a new play entitled "Lost Cabaret or KATANDOGASTROPHIC," by Jakeneck crewman Aphid's father, Gerd Stern.
"Lost Cabaret or KatanDogastrophic takes a mind trip through our information-saturated age. A techno puppet guru, a sultry Kat and naughty Dog, and five scenesters play with their relationships to each other and to reality."
Directed by Katharine Temple-West and performed by the Intermedia Troupe, the 45-minute show will be appearing at the Bank Street Theatre Friday the 8th, Saturday the 9th, Saturday the 16th, Sunday the 17th, and Tuesday the 19th.
