lefty radicals usurp jakeneck

houston, we have a problem.

we began jakeneck with the intention of it being a community oriented site, completely maleable and responsive to the whims of the collective—a site steered by the interest and behaviors of its participants, and that in itself was a lofty and noble pursuit. but what made the site unique and miraculous was the array of opinions and beliefs our contributors comprised, from the left to the right. it was a chance for dialogue and learning, above all else—an opportunity for growth, and at the very least, the strengthening of our arguments.

but truth be told, niggas be actin' nasty. several of our more right-leaning contributors and even readers have been complaining to me as of late that the environment on jakeneck has become increasingly hostile and that they feel as though they can't even express their opinions without being branded fascists. this level of intolerance makes me, for one, very sad and disappointed. is this the best culmination of our collective whims? righty-bashing?

jakeneck is about inclusivity and freedom of expression. it is not about badmouthing, harassing and disrespecting people, but about open dialogue and communication. i have expressed concern towards this issue previously and the crew did agree for the most part with my views. so how 'bout trying a little implementation now?

i don't want people dropping off the blogteam because they feel they can't speak their minds. if you take issue with their stance, be compassionate and considerate in your reproaches. use it as an opportunity to master the art of politely winning an argument, instead of leaping down a person's throat and shoving their ideas back up their asses. n'ah mean? because the worse it gets, the worse i feel, and i'm not making myself crazy keeping this site running to perpetuate hateful vibrations... we're here to spread the love.

now—next brief issue: because jakeneck has become so increasingly political—even though we, in our last crew meeting, decided we wanted to back off the politics and get a little more cultural—it seems like the other material on the site is getting lost. so here's the group question:

do we deem jakeneck a 100% politically-oriented site and perhaps relaunch shtv as a more culturally oriented site, thus keeping our subject matter consistent? or will you bastids tone done on the player hating and discuss some less-depressing topics for god's sake?
